Information About Living in Ewa Beach

Developed as an affordable housing development, Ewa has quickly grown to a population of 20,000 residents. With industry in the late 1800s to early 1900s focused around sugar cane production, Ewa originally designated as a population center where residents were concentrated to avoid high transportation costs. The Ewa Mill, in charge of the cane fields, set up the initial plan for the residential villages within Ewa. Today, sugar cane is no longer grown in Ewa, but the area has developed into one of Oahu’s top suburban growth centers. Ewa now spreads between Ewa Gentry and Ewa Beach to Kalaeloa and Kapolei. Encompassing those areas, Ewa is home to various housing types and resources. Therefore, Ewa residents of real estate homes or condominiums for rent have come to trust the area’s sturdy job market and enjoy not having to commute into Honolulu every day.

Because of the area’s flat plains, golfing is a popular pastime for visitors and residents alike. The Coral Creek Golf Course and Hawaii Prince Golf Course both offer exceptional golfing experiences. The Hawaiian Railway is the island’s only remaining operational railroad and offers tours as part of a historical look back on Oahu’s sugar cane history. Additionally, not only does Ewa offer residents a commute-free suburban lifestyle, it also offers all of the retailers, companies, and jobs that residents once could only access in Honolulu.
